Financial and Payroll Specialist

About the Role:
The University of Toronto's Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing is seeking a highly skilled Financial and Payroll Administrator to join their team. As the first point of contact for payroll-related enquiries, the successful candidate will be responsible for entering timesheet data, troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies, and reconciling payroll distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing payroll records for processing and generating standard financial reports
- Applying generally accepted accounting principles to financial tasks and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations and reconciling accounts
- Processing expense reimbursements and maintaining databases to produce reports
Requirements:
- Advanced College Diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of financial and payroll experience, preferably in a university environment
- Experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciling accounts, and processing expense reimbursements
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access, and experience with HRIS and FIS or other related financial and payroll systems
- Numerical aptitude, analytical ability, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
