Compelling Opportunity for a Highly Skilled Cytopathologist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Anatomic or General Pathologist with Fellowship training in Cytopathology at our Diagnostic and Scientific Centre (DSC) in Calgary, Alberta.

This role will join a group of dedicated professionals providing laboratory services at DSC. The successful candidate is expected to possess excellent skills in both Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology.

Cytopathology requires the ability to work in a setting with a similar case complexity. Our organization processes 30+ million tests, 260,000 surgical specimens, 200,000 gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology specimens annually.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the highest possible standards of practice, including prompt delivery of services that match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.

The General or Anatomical Pathologist must contribute collegially to the group practice and laboratory operations. The successful incumbent will also be required to obtain the appropriate professional liability coverage.

Required qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta, certification in Anatomic Pathology, Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology, or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology. Cytopathology Fellowship training and/or years of experience in cytopathology specialty practice and collaborative practice is required.
