Job Title: Vegetable Farm Worker

North Canal Produce Inc. is seeking a skilled Vegetable Farm Worker to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of our crops.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows to maintain crop health and prevent weeds from competing with our crops.
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots to ensure optimal quality and yield.
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth and maximize yields.
  • Weeding and other manual labor tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry to ensure efficient logistics.
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our animals.
  • Perform general farm duties as required, including maintaining farm machinery, equipment, and buildings.
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements:
  • Experience in farming or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be performed outdoors in a rural area.
  • Exposure to wet, damp, dusty, hot, and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment.
Weight Handling:
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as required.
