Job Title: Vegetable Farm Worker

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Vegetable Farm Worker to join our team at North Canal Produce Inc.

Job Summary

The Vegetable Farm Worker will be responsible for performing various tasks related to vegetable farming, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift heavy loads.

Responsibilities
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
  • Weeding
  • Clean work area
  • Harvest crops
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • Perform general farm duties
  • Maintain farm machinery, equipment, and buildings
  • Clean and maintain work space
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
Requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Walking
Work Environment

The Vegetable Farm Worker will work outdoors in a rural area, exposed to various weather conditions, including wet, dusty, hot, and cold temperatures.

Language

The primary language spoken in the workplace is English.

Work Term

This is a seasonal position, with a work term of 40 to 60 hours per week.
