Job Title: Vegetable Farm Worker

We are seeking a skilled Vegetable Farm Worker to join our team at North Canal Produce Inc.

Job Summary:

The Vegetable Farm Worker will be responsible for performing various tasks related to vegetable farming, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle heavy loads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows to maintain crop health
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to ensure optimal growth
  • Weeding and cleaning work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Harvest crops at the appropriate time to ensure maximum quality
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Perform general farm duties as required
  • Maintain farm machinery, equipment, and buildings to ensure optimal performance
  • Clean and maintain work spaces to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Standing for extended periods and walking
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling
