Pharmaceutical Support Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Support Professional to join our team at Metro Inc. as a Pharmacist Assistant.

About the Role:

This is a part-time opportunity to support pharmacists in providing dispensary and pharmacy services, achieving company initiatives, and adhering to industry standards. You will work under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist, and Pharmacy Technician, interacting with internal and external contacts to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of the technical act of dispensing medications.
  • Receive prescription refill requests and verbal prescriptions according to laws and regulations.
  • Maintain patient profiles, scan, and file records accurately.
  • Contact prescribers for various functions and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Provide excellent customer service on the sales floor and at the cash register.
  • Check emails and respond accordingly, ensuring timely communication.
  • Process orders, verify product received matches invoices, and store merchandise appropriately.
  • Conduct inventory-related tasks, enter and reconcile invoices/credits, and maintain shrink logs.
  • Utilize wholesaler websites for various functions and assist with dispensary paperwork as directed.
  • Maintain store standards and conditions, performing tasks such as cleaning the dispensary, sweeping floors, and organizing shelves.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist, following company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Educated in a Pharmacy Assistant Program.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in retail pharmacy.
  • Proficient with current PC systems, MS Office programs, and pharmacy software (Kroll).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships and a respectful work environment.
  • Language skills to communicate clearly and listen carefully.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage time, and be punctual.
  • Customer service skills to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Initiative to identify and complete tasks independently.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards. This compensation package reflects the value we place on our employees' contributions to our organization's success.
