Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist II, Multi Functional Lab Core Lab to join our team at Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services in New Westminster, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures, including routine and specialized tests, to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Collect and process specimens from inpatients and outpatients, following established protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the Section Head.
- Compile and analyze data, preparing reports and statistics as required.
- Ensure quality control standards are met, reporting any issues or concerns to the Section Head.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new staff members.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Technology program, with a minimum of one year of recent, related experience.
- Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, with regular attendance and punctuality.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
