Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist II to join our team in the Core Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including routine and additional procedures, to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and additional laboratory tests and procedures, following established departmental procedures.
- Collect and process specimens from inpatients and outpatients, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Perform maintenance on related equipment and report any malfunctions to the Section Head.
- Compile statistics and reports as required, ensuring accurate and timely data.
- Ensure quality control standards are met, reporting any issues to the Section Head.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with the orientation of new staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized school of Medical Technology, plus a minimum of one year's recent, related experience.
- Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Certified.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, with a focus on safety and well-being.
