Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at the Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our Core Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of laboratory tests and procedures, including routine and specialized tests, to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Collect and process patient specimens, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the Section Head.
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized school of Medical Technology, plus a minimum of one year's recent, related experience.
- Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Certified.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
