Senior Telecom Infrastructure Specialist
Description:The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecom Infrastructure Specialist to play a key role in solution analysis and decision-making regarding the implementation, performance, management, and design of the government's telecommunications IP-PBX system, as well as mobile device management and security infrastructure.
This specialist will provide critical operational support services by monitoring and managing this infrastructure to provide secure, robust, and reliable telecommunications services to the government and certain boards and agencies.
The position requires a strong understanding of multiple technology domains, including server security, server virtualization, storage systems, cellular device security, network protocols, and disaster recovery processes.
The specialist will support the entire government telecommunications IP-PBX infrastructure, which is a complex environment comprised of multiple data centre locations distributed across regional centres in the Northwest Territories.
Requirements:To be successful in this role, you will typically need an undergraduate degree in telecommunications, computer science, information systems, or a related field and 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the IT industry, including a minimum of 2 years of experience working with server administration.
You will also require a valid minimum Canadian Driver's License, equivalent to NWT Class 5.
