Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement proactive and reactive integrated communications strategies to support the Red Cross' strategic and operational priorities in Quebec and within the Canadian Francophonie.
  • Ensure that all communication channels (traditional, print, digital, social, etc.) are explored and used optimally to achieve our communications goals.
  • Act as a strategic communications advisor to members of the Quebec management team, providing guidance on communications strategies and tactics to promote the added value of communications and increase organizational capacity in strategic communications in Quebec.
  • Generate engagement from employees and volunteers in the Communications Department, communicate the vision of the Communications Department, and collaborate with other teams to rally employees and volunteers around the organization.
  • Guide, structure, write, review, and publish communication content, as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience in developing and implementing integrated communications strategies through a variety of channels.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in employee management and a general knowledge of HR processes, team and individual performance management, coaching, and budget management.
  • Experience in coordinating projects and initiatives, including project coordination, managing schedules and deliverables, structuring tasks, and follow-ups.
  • Excellent understanding of digital ecosystems and content strategies.
  • Very good command of the principles of writing and storytelling.
  • Understanding and experience with process management from a practical perspective, prioritizing what is feasible and planning for what can be done in the future.
  • Willingness and availability to travel to significant emergency response sites as required.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) with an excellent command of French both orally and in writing.
  • Creativity, curiosity, rigor, autonomy, initiative, and judgment.
  • Organizational skills, analytical, planning, and priority management.
  • Superior teamwork, priority management, interpersonal, and consulting skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented attitude.

  • Full-time, permanent position, based in Montreal, telecommuting when required by the instructions of the health authorities and according to the economic situation.
  • Participate in regular rotation in the evenings and on call for communications as needed.
