Crisis Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Haldimand & Norfolk Women's Services. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals in crisis.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and eligibility for specific services.
- Provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to clients.
- Counseling and Support
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Screening and Evaluation
- Conduct thorough screenings of clients to identify areas of need.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make recommendations for improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and interventions.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by management and external stakeholders.
- Education and Experience
- Degree in a related field (e.g. social work, counseling, psychology).
- Experience working in a crisis intervention or counseling setting.
- Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
