About the Opportunity

The Senior Structural Engineer is a key role responsible for the design and field review of complex buildings, underground infrastructure, and bridge structures. This includes temporary works required for their construction, providing site support during construction, and working directly with the contractor. Experience with shoring engineering on transportation-related projects is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex shoring and underpinning structures
  • Design and implement jacking, falsework, shoring, and roadway protection systems
  • Provide immediate engineering support to contractors in the field
  • Review and inspect work on construction sites
  • Conduct presentations and communicate ideas effectively

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a professional engineering designation
  • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the province of Ontario (PEO)
  • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the province of Quebec (OIQ) is highly preferred
  • Experience in design and construction engineering, particularly in temporary structures and construction stagging analysis
  • Familiarity with MTO procedures and regulations
  • Experience in bridge design and/or construction engineering for bridges
  • Experience working on site and collaborating with contractors
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects on time
  • Ability to work on both small and large projects of varying durations
