Role and Responsibilities

This role is part of the Integrated Program Delivery Team (IPDT) and reports to the Planning & Schedule Management Lead for the GO Expansion Program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and exceeding client expectations in the following areas:

  • Implementing IPD Best Practices in contract management.
  • Engaging key stakeholders in contract transformation under the PDP/IPDT model.
  • Managing IPD practices in procedures, processes, and training for contract management.
  • Managing the change in model and structure related to planning and schedule management among the PDP commercial team and vendor community.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the review and update of existing planning and schedule processes and procedures, aligning with IPDT model best practices.
  • Developing and implementing program-wide project requirements for planning and scheduling to improve consistency and support program delivery.
  • Developing and deploying a program contingency management process.
  • Managing planning and schedule management IPDT procedures, systems, and toolsets for program management of contracts across the GO Expansion Program.
  • Supporting a program-wide view of planning and schedule considerations, ensuring consistency of approach.
  • Supporting projects and their supply chains to deliver efficiently and effectively, removing consistent causes of cost and schedule overrun.
  • Managing consistency of delivery approach, standardizing program and project procedures to ensure integration and compliance with statutory and Metrolinx requirements.
  • Managing and providing for 'best for program' decision making, creating consistent and real-time reporting linked to the program control center.
  • Supporting program-level risk management, identifying and mitigating risks/issues and optimizing opportunities across all aspects of the program.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement at a program level as required by the stakeholder management plan.

Technical Management Expertise:

  • Providing consistent management in planning and schedule management to program management stakeholders/colleagues dedicated to each program delivery unit.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration and contract management of large capital programs.
  • Planning and schedule management experience on large capital transit projects.
  • Supporting the management of stakeholder, vendor, contractor, and project team relationships.
  • Advising and supporting the transformation of delivery team and supply chain cultures through new delivery models.
  • Experienced planning and scheduling in developing innovative, methodical, and robust solutions and procedures to resolve difficult contract issues, disputes, and claims while adhering to policies and contract terms.

Qualifications:

Education: A degree or equivalent with professional work experience in commercial and contract management disciplines.

Years of experience: 10 years of planning and schedule management experience in rail and transit projects.

Technical competencies:

  • IPDT delivery model experience.
  • Holding or working towards a professional qualification is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in Power BI.
