Job Opportunity:

The Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in American Studies. The successful candidate will be appointed as an Associate Professor or Professor and will hold the Bissell-Heyd-Associates Chair in American Studies for a five-year term. The position also offers the opportunity to serve as Director, Centre for the Study of the United States.

About the Role:

We seek a scholar with expertise in American Studies to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise research projects, and contribute to the development of the Centre for the Study of the United States. A strong research agenda and a commitment to excellence in teaching are essential qualifications for this position.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in American Studies or a related field
  • Established research record in American Studies
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
