Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a tenure-stream faculty member in the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and will have the opportunity to contribute to our dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop courses in the Planning Program, including core and elective courses
  • Supervise graduate students and maintain an active research program
  • Provide academic leadership and contribute to departmental and university service
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance the mission of the Planning Program
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree in Planning or a closely related field
  • Established record of excellence in research and teaching
  • International reputation and a demonstrated ability to attract external funding
  • Experience in academic leadership and a commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Focus on planning for climate change and urban resilience, reparative, abolitionist, and/or Indigenous planning, or urban data science
  • Membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) or a comparable national/regional planning body
