About the Role

We are seeking an experienced High-Performance Chiller Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to our customers in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in chiller maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers from various brands. You will work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing your knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities
  • Execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and service requests to prolong the equipment life cycle of our customers' equipment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues through effective communication skills via phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Provide quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Serve as the direct customer contact, responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Utilize cutting-edge software and technology, along with various hand tools and rigging equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Enforce safety standards to the highest level and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team delivering the highest standard of service to all customers, requiring flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business demands, including occasional overnight stays.
  • PARTICIPATE IN OUR 24/7 SERVICE ROTATION.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Journeyperson status
  • Valid Red Seal Refrigeration and A/C certification
  • Valid ODP certification
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e., smartphones, iPads)
  • Adherence to the company's safety program
  • Valid driver's license and necessary licenses to work with refrigerants, boilers, and steam operational & service knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
