About this Role

We are seeking an experienced ESG Finance Advisory Director to join our Capital Markets team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Performance Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head, Strategy, Marketing and Sustainability, the Sustainable Finance Group and the ESG Credit Group.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial analysis, strategic planning, and stakeholder management to drive business growth and sustainability. You will be responsible for providing insightful reporting and analytics to support executive decision-making, managing key strategic ESG projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build robust KPIs and targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Act as the lead Finance contact for the Head, Strategy, Marketing and Sustainability, the Sustainable Finance Group and the ESG Credit Group, assessing financial and non-financial performance, driving conclusions, and presenting results as appropriate.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide insightful reporting and analytics to support executive decision-making, and manage key strategic ESG projects on behalf of Finance in partnership with Strategy teams and CM lines of business.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate across CM lines of business, Investor Relations, External Reporting, Financial Control, Law, Group, Risk Management, Climate Strategy & Governance and Brand & Citizenship to build robust KPIs and targets, and construct an ESG financial and non-financial reporting infrastructure aligned with evolving internal, global, and regulatory standards.
  • Business Development: Support business executives and senior management in Capital Markets and Finance with analysis and recommendations on business opportunities, through identification of internal and external issues, and ongoing monitoring of the economic and regulatory environment related to ESG.
Requirements
  • Education: CPA, CFA or Finance MBA
  • Certifications: Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers
  • Skills: Experience with project management and ability to act as an effective catalyst for change
  • Tools: Keen sense of numbers, target setting, and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
