About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Services Associate to join our team at Meridian Credit Union. This role is based in our office located in Port Colborne, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position will include understanding the financial needs of our Members and providing appropriate advice and recommendations to fit their needs. This will involve offering large or complex credit and investment advice.

As a senior member of the branch sales team, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding specific individual and team-based business goals. You will manage Member portfolios to build genuine relationships with Members.

What You'll Do:
  • Understand how Meridian's products and services can add value to our Members.
  • Provide investment advice by identifying and promoting solutions that meet our Member needs.
  • Recommend credit products based on accurate and appropriate credit interviewing and underwriting skills.
  • Engage in revenue generation and sales-based activities to achieve performance objectives.
  • Use provided tools to proactively identify and promote opportunities with all Members to deepen relationships and provide flawless service experiences.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality to respect Member privacy.

Requirements

This role requires a post-secondary education with at least 3 years of equivalent work experience in a financial services environment. A consistent track record in sales is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong business and financial industry knowledge, with a desire for career growth within the financial services industry.

At minimum, MFDA licensing is required for most roles. The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, is also necessary.

Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including coaching and leadership skills, are required. Effective organizational time management and problem-solving skills are also essential.
