Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team at OSMH. As a consultant physician, you will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to our community-based patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily rounds on patients, ensuring timely discharge and facilitating effective care coordination.
  • Participate in hospital committees related to specialty, contributing to strategic planning and program development.
  • Engage in teaching rounds, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and students.
  • Maintain a community office practice, providing accessible and convenient care to patients.
  • Respond promptly to on-call responsibilities, including consultations in the ER and inpatient units.
  • Utilize available resources, including outpatient clinics, ECG and Holter Monitoring, and minor procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities, ensuring high-quality medical care.
Qualifications
  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license.
  • Fellowship in General Internal Medicine recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Competencies in the CanMEDS roles, including function effectively as a consultant, establish and maintain clinical knowledge, and perform complete and appropriate assessments.
