About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Physician to join our team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our emergency medicine services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Patients
    • Assess and diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, including acute injuries and illnesses
    • Develop and implement treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Prescribe Medication and Treatment
    • Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary to manage patient conditions
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust plans as needed
  • Collaborate with Other Healthcare Professionals
    • Work closely with nurses, other physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Medical Knowledge
    • Stay current with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices in emergency medicine
    • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
    • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) or equivalent certification
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency medicine or a related field
    • Excellent clinical skills and judgment
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
