At OSMH, we are seeking a highly skilled General Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a community-based general internal medicine specialist, you will provide comprehensive consultant in-patient and out-patient services. Your expertise will be invaluable in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our medical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily rounds on patients, ensuring timely discharge and facilitating effective care.
  • Participate in hospital committees related to specialty, driving quality improvement and strategic planning.
  • Engage in teaching rounds, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
  • Maintain a community office practice, providing accessible care to patients.
  • Respond promptly to on-call responsibilities, including ER and inpatient unit consultations.

Resources and Support:

  • Access to outpatient clinics, including Diabetes Clinic, Heart Function Program, and Stress Testing.
  • Shared resources, such as ECG and Holter Monitoring.
  • Outpatient clinic for minor procedures.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license.
  • Fellowship in Plastic Surgery recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Proficiency in CanMEDS roles, including consultant, clinical knowledge, assessment, intervention, and consultation.
