About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Physician to join our team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our emergency medicine services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Patients: Use your expertise to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.
  • Prescribe Medication and Treatment: Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medication and ordering diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and other physicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Continuing Education: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to Quality Improvement: Collaborate with our quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in emergency medicine or a related field is an asset.
  • Certifications: A Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) and Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II) are required. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities are also necessary.
