At Awasis Agency of Northern Manitoba, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Child Welfare Specialist to join our team in providing preventive services to children and families.

About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time position that requires the incumbent to work closely with families, community partners, and other stakeholders to provide support services and resources that promote family well-being and prevent child protection interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop and implement case plans that address the unique needs of each family
  • To provide individual and group counseling sessions to children and families as needed
  • To work collaboratively with community agencies and organizations to connect families with local resources and services
  • To maintain accurate records and reports related to client interactions and service provision
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in child welfare or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of CFS legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
