About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at Southeast Child Family Services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience in front-line case management and a passion for supporting Indigenous communities.

As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing protection and prevention services to children and families in Pauingassi First Nation. You will work closely with community resources and team members to establish and maintain partnerships that benefit clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care, meeting prescribed timelines.
  • Facilitate group meetings, build teams, and make decisions while taking initiative, solving problems, leading, planning, coordinating, and de-escalating conflict.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation (e.g., CFSIS, IM) of client interactions and case progress.
  • Participate in Agency events, training, and flexible hours as required, and travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous culture, child welfare practices, and relevant legislation (e.g., Child and Family Services Act).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CFSIS, and IM, and valid driver's license.
  • Satisfactory background checks, including Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
