QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a relevant health science discipline such as Med Lab Sciences, Medical/Clinical Microbiology, Epidemiology, Pathology, or related field is required.

Three years' recent related acute care clinical experience is necessary, including one year of demonstrated recent experience working directly with infection control processes, policies, activities, including the facilitation of work teams, projects, and quality improvement initiatives.

Strong working knowledge of program development and implementation and performance measures is essential.

Certificate of successful completion from an IPAC Canada-endorsed infection control course or evidence of Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.

Valid Class 5 vehicle license is necessary.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Advanced communication, writing, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Detailed knowledge and demonstrated success with project management methodologies are necessary.
  • Proven ability to track, coordinate, and address issues as they affect proposed action plans is essential.
  • Proven ability to write, analyze, and edit project plans and proposals with accuracy and consistency is necessary.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current clinical practices and methodologies is required.
  • Ability to critique, organize, and analyze information is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively introduce, implement, and evaluate new policies and procedures is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team is required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work is essential.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computer software applications, is necessary.
  • Conflict management skills are required.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position is necessary.
