We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of inbound materials and refuse through our industrial disposal process.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and inspect heavy equipment such as forklifts, roll-off trucks, and skid loaders.
- Manage the safe operation of equipment in assigned areas, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using tools and parts provided by Covanta.
- Conduct daily inspections of motorized machinery to identify and address any potential issues or hazards.
- Review and record CRT demanding line processing levels and provide daily reports to supervisors.
- Assist supervisors with security procedures, including personnel tracking and entrance management.
Requirements:
- Experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating manuals and safety procedures.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, with a focus on maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions, taking initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury during emergencies.
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
