About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Trainee to join our team at Ryder System. As a Heavy Equipment Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist experienced technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, brake work, and tire replacements. They will also be responsible for inspecting vehicles, identifying potential issues, and making recommendations for repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic repairs.
  • Assist experienced technicians with daily tasks, such as lubricating and cleaning equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify potential issues and make recommendations for repairs.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems, including brakes, suspension, and steering.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification in heavy equipment repair or related field preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
Benefits

Ryder offers a competitive salary, ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Additionally, we provide benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
