Toronto, Ontario, Canada Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Full time

About the Role:

At the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Disability Case Specialist to join our team in the Health, Safety & Wellness department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting CAMH employees experiencing non-occupational related illnesses or injuries.

The successful candidate will have experience in absence disability claims management and return-to-work principles in a unionized environment. Strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, Human Rights legislation, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential. Certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW) is an asset.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. This full-time contract position is available for 18 months.

About the Job Description:

In this role, you will manage all aspects of the claim administration process, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and policies. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive, timely return-to-work outcomes. Your expertise will be sought after by employees, managers, and HR partners to provide guidance on employee extended absences, modified work programs, and permanent accommodation arrangements.

You will work closely with the CAMH third-party insurer to manage claims throughout their lifecycle, facilitating return-to-work processes and coordinating medical accommodations. Your strong analytical and strategic thinking skills will enable you to creatively implement and evaluate return-to-work strategies, prepare metrics and absence reports, and identify trends for internal stakeholders.

This opportunity offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of CAMH employees while working collaboratively within a small but mighty team of occupational health and safety professionals. We value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
