Job Summary

We are seeking a Disability Services Specialist to join our team at the University of Toronto Scarborough. As a key member of our AccessAbility Services department, you will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to provide support and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • You will assess student needs and develop individualized accommodation plans to ensure equal access to educational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services and support for students with complex needs.
  • Provide guidance on disability-related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote disability awareness and inclusion among university members.
  • Conduct research to stay current on best practices in disability support and accommodation.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, rehabilitation services) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in disability case management, accommodation planning, and support services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessing disability-related needs and developing effective accommodation plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an academic environment, preferably with students with disabilities.
