Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Disability Case Coordinator I to join its Occupational Health and Safety Department. As an integral member of the team, the successful candidate will utilize specialized knowledge and experience to determine fitness to perform and accommodation needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employees' absence from the workplace due to non-complex illness or injury
  • Coordinate the return to work process for occupational and non-occupational cases, advising management and union on appropriate job placement
  • Ensure the Hospital meets legislative requirements for a safe and healthy work environment
  • Perform communication and administrative responsibilities
  • Support cross-functional duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Completion of or active enrollment in credentials in Disability Management and/or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in complex disability management, return to work planning, WSIB injury/illness claims, unionized environments, and supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of principles of the duty to accommodate, health and safety legislation, and HOODIP
