About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled AVP to lead our Large Loss Appraisal team. As a key member of our Property Claims Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the quantification team, which includes large loss appraisers, review desk evaluators, vendor managers, pricing, and a technical restoration specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of business unit outcomes, strategy, and goals.
  • Create an environment that fosters continuous improvement, innovation, and employee growth, while promoting a culture of coaching and development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve system conditions, reduce operational risks, and enhance financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes that drive business results.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the team in senior management discussions, providing expert insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
  • Develop and recommend strategic direction for the department, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Strong technical construction and estimating experience in large loss quantification.
  • Post-secondary education and a CIP/FCIP designation (asset).
  • Previous leadership experience in the insurance industry, with a proven track record of performance management and career development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, advocate, and influence others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
  • Curiosity and creativity, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
