Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Recruitment Officer to join our team at the University of Waterloo. As a key member of our Faculty of Science, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans to attract and retain top graduate students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement graduate recruitment strategies, including customized tactics for individual programs
  • Research and identify effective digital media channels to reach prospective students, including social media engagement and advertising
  • Collaborate with communications and recruitment colleagues to ensure alignment with Science and University branding
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on Science faculty-level graduate webpages and in the Graduate Studies Calendar
  • Develop and produce engaging content for various channels, including written stories, photography, and video
  • Manage graduate recruitment budget and assess return on investment for recruitment tactics
Qualifications
  • University degree in a field related to communications and marketing, with a graduate degree preferred
  • Proven experience in communications and/or marketing, with a strong working knowledge of digital communications tools
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience developing marketing plans based on research and data analysis
  • Strong sense of design and creative choices to support brand and messaging
  • Ability to engage professionally with diverse groups, including faculty members, staff, and students
