About the Role

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to lead the Ross Tilley Burn Centre, a state-of-the-art facility providing tertiary care for burn injury patients in Ontario. As a key member of the University's faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to the Burn Centre's medical team, including burn surgeons, and fostering excellent working relationships within the team and the broader Sunnybrook community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Burn Centre's medical team, including burn surgeons
  • Foster excellent working relationships within the team and the broader Sunnybrook community
  • Collaborate with the Burn Centre's Patient Care Manager to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements

  • Completed a burn fellowship and acquired extensive experience in the surgical care and critical care of patients with burns
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated excellence in at least one scholarly domain, such as teaching, research, or quality improvement
  • Hold an MD/equivalent and have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent qualification

About the Ross Tilley Burn Centre

The Ross Tilley Burn Centre is a fully affiliated academic health sciences facility of the University of Toronto, located in Toronto, Ontario. It is the only program in the province that provides a complete range of services, from admission to follow-up and reconstructive surgery. The centre is equipped with a dedicated intensive care unit and operating room and is home to the only tissue bank in Ontario that stores temporary skin to treat major burn injuries.
