About the Role:

The University of Toronto invites applications for the position of Medical Director at the Ross Tilley Burn Centre, a leading burn care facility in Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified individual to provide leadership and direction to the burn centre's medical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the burn centre's medical team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement clinical programs and services that meet the needs of burn patients.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto, to advance burn care and research.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a burn fellowship and extensive experience in surgical care and critical care of patients with burns.
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in scholarly domains such as teaching, research, or quality improvement.
  • Hold an MD/equivalent qualification and certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English and eligibility for a clinical full-time academic appointment at the University of Toronto.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive estimated annual stipend of approximately $175,000, equivalent to 0.3 FTE (1.5 days per week).
  • Renewable term for up to 5 years.

The Ross Tilley Burn Centre is a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto, offering tertiary care for burn injury patients in Ontario. With an average of 300 patient admissions annually, it is one of the largest burn centres in Canada.
