As a Desktop Systems Specialist at Industrial Light & Magic, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that works closely with our creative and administrative teams to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced and intensely collaborative film production environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of IT duties related to operational assistance and projects for all aspects of the ILM studio.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and issue resolution.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and maintain the studio's inventory and assets, ensuring that stock and resources meet the forward-looking needs of the studio.
  • Develop and maintain well-crafted documentation and deliver scripting and automation as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and partners to ensure timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Participate in projects to change the studio's infrastructure and facilities, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments.

Requirements:

  • Experience coordinating and navigating a multi-OS environment, including Linux, Windows, and macOS.
  • Experience supporting high-end virtual and bare-metal workstations.
  • Deep curiosity about technology, particularly as it applies to visual effects and games production.
  • Effective use of time and ability to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent requests.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding of how to build, maintain, and fix hardware and software for desktops, laptops, and tablets.

What We Offer:

Industrial Light & Magic offers a competitive salary range of C$64,700 to C$82,800 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
