The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario, offering students and parents a world of choice for learning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, organize and direct the delivery of equitable, inclusive and culturally responsive services and programs required for students with special education learning profiles.
This role consults with internal and external stakeholders to promote the importance of inclusion, student achievement and wellbeing in alignment with the strategic objectives of the OCDSB.
Main Accountabilities:- Supervise professional support staff managers and support staff within psychology/behaviour analysts, speech/language pathology/occupational therapy, and social work services.
- Oversee coordination of Specialized Program Classes, including pupil accommodation, quality program indicators, service delivery model review and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with Employee Services, Facilities Department, and Planning Department to support the annual budget process and prepares various reports in relation to specialized program class staffing.
- Manage various departmental priorities such as IEP Online (IOL), Summer Learning Program for Students with ASD/DD, Health and Medical (e.g., service animals, specialized health services in schools), Program Evaluation, and Policy and Procedure development/review.
- Work in coordination with other departments to oversee Transportation for students with special education needs.
- Lead the Early Learning Team (Cross departmental, multi-disciplinary to ensure appropriate programming to support students across the District).
Masters Degree or higher in a Regulated Health Profession and 7 years of experience in the field of special education, within an educational setting.
$145,941 to $171,825 per annum (Union Exempt, Level 11)
