Hospitality Support Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hospitality Support Cook to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food preparation and service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including hot and cold dishes, baked goods, and specialty items.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to a high standard, meeting the requirements of food safety and quality.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and efficient food preparation.
- Participate in menu planning and development, suggesting new ideas and recipes.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a food service setting.
- Safe food handlers Level 1 Certification.
- WHMIS Certificate.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Experience with menu planning and development.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
