Hospitality Support Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hospitality Support Cook to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food preparation and service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including hot and cold dishes, baked goods, and specialty items.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to a high standard, meeting the requirements of food safety and quality.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service and high-quality food presentation.
- Participate in menu planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and guests to ensure excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a food service setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Safe food handlers Level 1 Certification and WHMIS Certificate required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures, as well as basic cooking standards and techniques.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods.
