Job Title: Manager, IT

Rutgers University is seeking a highly skilled Manager, IT to lead the Network Architecture team in designing, implementing, and optimizing critical technologies for the Office of Information Technology (OIT).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage systems and services providing critical network services such as DNS, DHCP, network monitoring, and alerting.
  • Scale and evolve systems sustainably through automation, advocating for changes that improve reliability and agility.
  • Engage in and improve the lifecycle for both service delivery infrastructure and its supporting services.
  • Maintain, monitor, and improve systems and services for NOA and Enterprise Infrastructure.
  • Share and disseminate knowledge among other staff and researchers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Plus seven (7) years of experience in telecommunications networking and computing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Nine (9) years of experience working in the telecommunications, networking, and/or computing industry.
  • Industry certifications including but not limited to CCNP/CCIE with concentrations in Security, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Infoblox accreditation for DDI, NetMRI, and/or DNSSEC.
Work Environment:

This individual spends time working in a standard office environment and in the field, providing support for IT equipment and infrastructure.

The office environment is standard; however, the field environments vary from site to site.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, twist, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand, regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 75 pounds.

Use their hands to handle tools, cabling, and equipment.
