Position Summary


The Service Manager is responsible for managing the Service Department for the Branch.


Specific Accountabilities


  • Manage the Service Department employees including hiring, performance evaluation, workflow and termination decisions
  • Technician management would also include the following;

- Answer technical question and/or guide to internal resources.

- Assisting with repair advice

- Reviewing work to ensure it meets Liftow standards.

- Coordination of work schedules, holiday scheduling

- Plan and assign service technicians to optimize utilization.

  • Manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) to reduce company liability
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities related to work in process (WIP)
  • Approve service-related items such as time tickets, edit sheets and quoted jobs
  • Ensure technician training is up to date
  • Fill in for Branch Manager when not available (i.e. illness or vacations)
  • Responds to customer issues or problems when escalation to Management is required


Qualifications:


Education & Work Experience

College degree or equivalent work experience and at least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or technical role.

  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to write business correspondence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

Responsabilités spécifiques


Gérer le personnel du département de service, y compris les embauches, les évaluations de rendement, les processus de travail et les décisions de congédiement

  • La gestion des techniciens et techniciennes comprend également les tâches suivantes
  • Répondre aux questions techniques et/ou les diriger vers des ressources internes
  • Fournir du soutien avec des conseils en réparation
  • Procéder à la vérification du travail afin d’assurer le respect des normes Liftow
  • Coordination des horaires et planification des congés
  • Planification et affectation des techniciens pour optimiser l’utilisation des ressources


Gérer les entretiens planifiés (PM) pour limiter les risques de responsabilité de la compagnie

Superviser les activités quotidiennes des travaux en cours (WIP)


Approuver des items liés au service, comme les feuilles de temps et les soumissions de service

S’assurer que les techniciens et techniciennes reçoivent une formation continue pour maintenir leur niveau de compétence

Remplacer le directeur ou la directrice de succursale durant son absence (par exemple, en cas de maladie ou de vacances)

Répondre aux problèmes des clients lorsque ceux-ci sont jugés assez graves pour nécessiter l’intervention de la direction

Formation et expérience

Posséder un diplôme universitaire ou une expérience de travail équivalente, de même qu’un minimum de 5 ans d’expérience dans un rôle technique ou de supervision.

  • Capacité démontrée à diriger une équipe
  • Excellentes habiletés en relations interpersonnelles et en communication (écrite et verbale)
  • Excellentes aptitudes d’organisation et capacité de prioriser des délais concurrents
  • Capacité d’établir de bonnes relations, de présenter de l’information et de répondre aux questions
  • Capacité de résoudre des problèmes pratiques et de gérer diverses variables
  • Capacité de rédiger de la correspondance d’affaires
  • Maîtrise des logiciels Word, Excel et PowerPoint de Microsoft
