Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies

Dawson College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Leader to join our team as the Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader to shape the future of our Social Science and Business programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the Social Science and Business Technologies sector, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that promote academic excellence, student success, and faculty development.
- Lead and manage a team of faculty and staff, providing guidance, support, and resources to achieve sector goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and collaboration.
- Develop and manage budgets, resources, and personnel to achieve sector goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in Social Science and Business, and apply this knowledge to inform sector decisions and strategies.
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Business, Social Science) and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in academic leadership or a related field.
- Proven track record of academic leadership, including experience in program development, faculty management, and budget management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.
