About the Role

Dawson College is seeking a dynamic and experienced academic leader to serve as the Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies. Reporting to the Academic Dean, this individual will be responsible for ensuring academic excellence in the sector, providing leadership and support for the management of programs and departments, and overseeing the management of programs, departments, learning activities, budgets, and personnel within the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic leadership and vision for the sector, ensuring academic excellence and innovation
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sector goals and objectives
  • Lead and manage a team of faculty and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective program delivery
  • Oversee the management of programs, departments, learning activities, budgets, and personnel within the sector
  • Collaborate with other academic leaders and stakeholders to promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and creativity
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to promote the college's reputation and interests
Requirements
  • Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, preferably including at least three (3) years in a post-secondary teaching experience
  • Dynamic academic leadership with demonstrated success in motivating others, managing performance, and building cohesive teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a self-directed and team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration and innovation
