Job DescriptionThe Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies is responsible for ensuring academic excellence in the sector. The sector comprises programs in Social Science and Business Technologies. The Dean provides leadership and support for the management of programs and departments of the sector. The ideal candidate will have dynamic academic leadership, knowledge of competency-based education, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage a significant budget and work with complex financial systems.
Responsibilities- Ensure academic excellence in the sector
- Provide leadership and support for the management of programs and departments of the sector
- Manage programs, departments, learning activities, budgets, and personnel within the sector
- Undergraduate degree in an appropriate specialization
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, preferably including at least three (3) years in a post-secondary teaching experience
- Dynamic academic leadership with demonstrated success in motivating others, managing performance, and building cohesive teams
- Knowledge of competency-based education
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment with excellent analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability in managing a significant budget and working with complex financial systems
- Demonstrated ability to use tact and discretion
- Conflict-resolution, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and team environment
- An open, collegial, and collaborative management style
- Ability to be proactive and anticipate needs and future trends
- Excellent English language skills (oral and written)
- Very good French language skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Managerial experience considered an asset
