Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced academic leader to join our team as the Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring academic excellence in the sector, providing leadership and support for the management of programs and departments, and managing budgets and personnel.
Responsibilities- Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies will be responsible for the management of programs, departments, learning activities, budgets, and personnel within the sector.
- The Dean will provide leadership and support for the management of programs and departments, and will be responsible for ensuring academic excellence in the sector.
- The Dean will manage budgets and personnel within the sector, and will be a part of the leadership team at the college level.
- An undergraduate degree in an appropriate specialization and minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, preferably including at least three (3) years in a post-secondary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated dynamic academic leadership with success in motivating others, managing performance, and building cohesive teams.
- Knowledge of competency-based education and excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to exercise good judgment, and excellent analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a significant budget and work with complex financial systems.
- Conflict-resolution, negotiation, and advocacy skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and team environment.
- An open, collegial, and collaborative management style, and ability to be proactive and anticipate needs and future trends.
- Excellent English language skills (oral and written), and very good French language skills (oral and written).
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, and managerial experience considered an asset.
