Unit Manager Legal Claims Support Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled Unit Manager, Legal Claims Support, to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Law Clerks, Legal Assistants, and Administrative Support members.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and communicate clear performance objectives for your team and continually measure progress on attainment of these objectives.
- Ensure a high level of employee engagement by monitoring overall engagement and creating and executing engagement action plans.
- Assess strengths and areas of opportunity for your team and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Provide regular and ongoing feedback, mentoring, and coaching to your team.
- Identify key talent and provide developmental opportunities for optimization and engagement.
- Lead the recruitment process, including interviewing and selecting candidates, and onboarding new employees.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and huddles to ensure two-way flow of information.
- Assist your team in understanding and applying policies, procedures, and theories.
- Drive change while maintaining effective communication to inform your team of new initiatives, processes, and workflows.
- Plan and implement office systems and organize office operations and procedures.
- Partner with HR to lead the recruitment process and onboarding of new employees.
- Participate in project-based tasks assigned by Director and/or VP Legal Claims.
- Compile and analyze statistics and reports while monitoring and predicting legal trends.
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline (legal, paralegal, or management) or equivalent education combined with relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five to eight years of experience in a litigation environment or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of two years of management experience or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven and effective communication and interpersonal skills to develop and foster favorable relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, I-Manager, and other e-discovery tools.
- Proven project management skills, including planning, leading, and successfully executing projects.
- Experience implementing and driving change by encouraging innovative thinking and changes in an operation.
- Experience leading a large team, including establishing and measuring performance, providing open and honest feedback, and maintaining employee engagement.
