Talent Acquisition Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Talent Acquisition Partner to join our team at Montrose Environmental Group. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be responsible for leading the Canadian end-to-end recruitment processes, from crafting compelling job postings to orchestrating impactful social media campaigns, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and overseeing offer negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement targeted talent strategies focused on new graduates, diversity and inclusion initiatives, enhancing new employee experiences, and fortifying employer branding efforts.
- Engage in networking events, such as career fairs and professional association meetings, and foster collaborations with universities and colleges across Canada to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Deliver comprehensive reporting on key recruitment metrics to facilitate informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement in talent acquisition processes.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Human Resources Business Partners and other HR team members to ensure a cohesive experience for hiring managers, applicants, and new hires.
- Develop and deploy recruiting tools and best practices, including standardized screening techniques, to effectively evaluate the skills, qualifications, and experience of potential candidates.
- Provide insightful advice and strong consultative skills to cultivate value-additive talent acquisition partnerships.
- Proactively work towards building a diverse and qualified team to support organizational goals.
- Leverage the applicant tracking system (Workday) for creating job postings, collaborating with hiring managers on candidate reviews, and managing the end-to-end offer process.
- Partner on segment or Montrose recruitment projects to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the talent acquisition function, including initiatives such as candidate assessments, technology platform evaluations, interview guides, and recruiting training for leaders.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, or related field and/or a combination of education and related experience.
- 8+ years of full-cycle talent acquisition and recruitment experience in the environmental industry preferred.
- Excellent communication with a demonstrated ability to influence leaders from frontline managers to executives.
- Experience leveraging data to develop and implement new recruitment strategies.
- Demonstrated success leveraging technology to implement and streamline processes to drive consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of and experience using recruitment and digital tools such as an applicant tracking system (Workday), electronic job boards (LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, Indeed), social media, and the ability to proactively source and mobilize relevant candidates.
- Experience supporting teams in remote locations and leading interview and training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Solid understanding of employment laws to ensure compliance.
- Travel: ability and willingness to travel locally and nationally to support recruitment activities, HR meetings, and recruitment programs (approximately 10%).
