Your Opportunity

As a Transportation Infrastructure Development Specialist, you will be responsible for leading design assignments, coordinating with other disciplines, and analyzing design solutions for transportation structures.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, from pre-design information gathering to construction completion. Your strong computer skills, including experience with CAD software, will be essential in preparing and reviewing technical reports and tender documents.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Act as lead designer for small and medium-sized engineering assignments, developing skills towards a future project manager/technical lead role.
  • Attend site visits for pre-design information gathering, construction, and post-construction review.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines, including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning.
  • Analyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions and design transportation structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations.
  • Direct CAD teams for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to clients.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
  • Provide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering services.
  • Work within assigned project budgets and schedules.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Demonstrate interest in working in both office and field environments.
  • Show ability to perform outdoor physical duties during bridge inspection work.
  • Possess a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Exhibit strong computer skills, including experience with CAD and SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAME software.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Show ability to work in a team environment and excel in bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
  • Demonstrate organization and attention to detail.
  • Show ability to mentor the technical development of others.
  • Exhibit the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
Education and Experience

B.A.Sc. or B.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a strong interest and experience in structures, particularly bridges.

P.Eng. status and minimum 4 years of proven experience in design using Canadian codes and design standards.
