About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Platinum Transport Group Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the performance of our transportation team and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor Department's Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of our transportation operations.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our transportation processes and improve efficiency.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement changes to our transportation schedules and policies.
  • Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of our transportation department.
  • Recruit Staff: Identify and recruit qualified candidates to join our transportation team.
  • Supervise Staff: Provide guidance and support to our transportation team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Train Staff: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our transportation team members.
  • Manage Finances or Budget: Oversee the financial aspects of our transportation department, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that our transportation operations comply with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible rates and services for our transportation needs.
  • Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of our vehicles and goods to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee the Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our transportation service rates and monitor revenue.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Ensure that our inventory is accurately tracked and maintained to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled and Fuel Consumption: Maintain accurate records of our cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
  • Health Benefits: Dental plan and other benefits as per company policy.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week.
