We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Coordinator to join our team at WoodGreen Community Services. As a key member of our Children's Program team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality after-school programs for children aged 6-12.

About the Role

As a Youth Development Coordinator, you will work closely with the Manager and Assistant Supervisor to ensure the goals and objectives of the program are met. This involves the planning and development of programs and services that cater to the diverse needs of children in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage with participating children and parents to determine their interests and needs.
  2. Plan and deliver engaging after-school activities that promote skills development, leadership, and self-esteem for children in this age group.
  3. Supervise off-site trips with groups of children and ensure their safety during these excursions.
  4. Develop and implement community action projects that empower children to make a positive impact in their community.
  5. Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's participation.
  6. Supervise children during extended hours before and after program times.
  7. Document the process of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  8. Facilitate parent information sessions and maintain open communication with parents.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • First Aid Certification (First Aid/CPR-C) and up-to-date immunization records.
  • At least one year of experience planning and implementing activities for school-aged children.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, instruct, and care for children aged 6-12.
